TALE 23 - Blessings and stomachs

She was a cook...
Visiting several houses n making food for them...
She not only cooked meals but managed their kitchens to the T...
She did her job mighty well...
Filling people's heart not just stomachs...
Her dishes were vouched for at all times good or bad...
Her food comforted, her food celebrated, her food helped people bond, her food made people live on home cooked meals...
Fortunately for her, her passion was her profession...
Her work gave her immense joy and satisfaction...
One fine day she decided...
To quit her jobs and start off tiffin service on her own...
This was a business...
There was a serious risk...
And people she worked with wouldn't let her go...
So she had to make a choice...
Cooking is an art...
Not something you can learn overnight...
She took weekend orders at first...
Then her food spoke...
Publicity was made by word of mouth...
She was offered a job in a canteen as a chef...
She then stopped going to peoples homes to cook...
She took up the canteen offer for an experience...
She kept taking part time catering orders though...
Slowly gaining confidence and saving up on money she decided to quit this job...
She took help of one of her ex-employers
In turn offered to cook for their two party celebrations...
This was a good barter decision
He helped her make a database of all her ex-employers and people who ate in the canteen...
Messages were sent by her name promoting her new tiffin service as a venture...
People were pleasantly surprised with such a systematic approach...
She did start with 7 immediate tiffin orders...
Business grew...profits increased...
She kept the repay in kind policy with her ex employers...
They in turn helped her with business growth...
She would cook for their functions on weekends
She was listed on popular urban directories...
She also had her website made
She had a sincerely loyal fan following...
She slowly hired 5 people under her...
As this venture grew...
There was more space, more employment, more profit, more reach...
She was featured amongst one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in a year...
Was she skilled? Yes
Was luck by her side? Maybe
Would we care to know about her personal life? Maybe, maybe not...
No one knew about her personal life...
No one still knows...
And who cares...
Yet she made it...
We may not be happy about this tale...
But we can certainly be happy for her...
