cafe IVY n bistro - the wine bar

we were reeeeeaalllly tired by 5 p.m. and longed for our hot cuppa in a relaxed environ.... while passing nehru centre we had a glimpse of the cafe IVY on the other side lof the road and so finally made up our mind to have our evening coffee there.... omg, these ppl had valet service which made my life easier coz it isnnt quite easy to park near , in or around worli...

this was certainly a cafe with a twist, it had a wine bar attached!!! such an informal setting with soothing english colours....predominance of wood in the decor and fab jazz music playing for just the puuuuuuurfect way to de-stress and not distress!!!!! hahaha......... we chose a tabe by the window with an amazing vkiew of a busy worli highway..... dim lights, coffee n wine flavours in the air....ahhh.......made my day.

we looked at the ,menu card.... amazing collection of wine at fairly affordable prices. 300/- for a take away bottle and 50/- for a glass of inhouse wine isnt bad at all!!!! plus a good section of bite size grabs in veg and n on veg and a decent varieties of coffee.... a tempting course of pasteries n works made me go crazzzzzzzzy. we opted for a tyred coffee n a choco mud cake along with some brusettas.

time flew away..... more ppl started pouring in.... the cake was a bit too sweet n the coffee.... had less coffee in it. we were dissapointed... the brusettas were a bit cold, not even warm and seemed a little too saucy....n sour.... ahhhh....... not good :-c we chatted, about writting blogs n short stories and whether we shud continue doing so... encouraged each other over the over sweet beverage n bites....

but full marks to the ambience i must say. they also have a library full of coffee table books on wine and indian culture and ofcourse on coffee.... they have a nice collection of grape n wine stories n posters from all over ther world n special open cellars marked with the humble chalk to store n display wines.... i was impressed. i dream of hjaving such a styled room in my house someday where i can entertain my folks......
