ho hum...........

My maid needed a half day off from work.... I asked her the reason ,"my kid cousin is getting married", she replied.... "????", me.

"Yes tai, (Dats wot she calls me), in our community , we get married off as soon as v attain puberty." ,maid.

"So, u havent yet married, u arent married yet. you are 18?"

"Dats because i am adamant and i dont want to b sacrificed so early tai..."

"Sacrificed? who told u marriage is a sacrifice?"

"Tai, look; its marriage at 13, 1 st kid at 14 ,second at 15 , third at 16 ....and so on and so forth till the bride dies of anemia....And then the groom marries another 13 year old....and the story continues untill the GROOM dies a natural death(or till he has strength in his pants)....due to old age...."

"WHOA........i thought multi-marriages are only done in hollywood....dint quite know it has an indi origin!!!!"

"kay tai", maid.

"no, nothing....dont u think this is BAD?"

"ho tai this is, but we cant do anything....even the police cant stop such marriages. it happens and will happen....and NO one can stop it"

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, COMPLAINING AGAINST IT TO D COPS TOO WONT HELP COZ THEY WILL MARRY OFF THE COUPLE SOME DAYS LATER AFTER COMING OUT OF THE JAIL.............
