I wonder if all the artists demonstrated any remote acting talent in their roles. Although I originally gave the play a positive review on 'star mazha' channel, I now regret applauding on national television as loudly as I did but i HAD to care about my image as an audience...hehehe kidding!!! BUDDHA HOGA TERA BAAP does not provide anything inspiring or refreshing, entertaining.
I now understand that a play cannot run on energy alone. A poor comedy that chews a boring plot of ageing for a couple hours, but as soon as it ends, you forget everything. It’s a disposable memory trip and if u r lucky enough, then do sleep for 3 hours in d AC theatre. We're humans, not androids. Hardly a comedy for the ages. I've barely kept my attention in SHIVAJI MANDIR. What I expected to b funny, recognized as juvenile and a little stupid. I can only presume that on first viewing I fell into the same trap that captures people who say they like below d belt creations. The absurdity makes you laugh for a moment, but it doesn't last, the oddball humor doesn't have much of an impact at all.
It’s just that the overplayed wisdom of aaji's character grates harshly on the nerves after a while.And the folksy dialogues of Shekhar Phadke simply dont stand up to a second viewing. This play turns out to be just another one that leaves me with nothing of value to reflect on. This in my pile, being a simply irritating as fuck punk-funk noodle work out, that would have me flinging chairs around in fury if it were to poison my sensitive shell. How can people tolerate such nonsense!!!
The one act play 'CASE NO.49' was far more bearable n less vomit inducing than d long length play with a kind of a vibe that makes me grind my teeth down to my gums. That doesnt stop Viju Mane from directing more...he fails to give any depth. Damn u Viju!!! So there you have it, a classic tale of how preconceptions and a little bit of good vibes can make you see completely crazy things.
